Prop 8 denies the right to marriage among other things
First, how can one say that Prop 8 does not deny homosexuals any rights, when the soul purpose of it is to deny them the RIGHT to marriage? Civil unions sometimes have similar state level benefits as marriage but it is still different on many levels (you must note that civil unions are not recognized by the federal government). The whole purpose of civil unions is so that same-sex couples can be \"separate but equal\", but I swore that whole idea was considered discrimation in this day and age? There is also the social standing marriage brings along. Our culture does not take civil unions as the same thing as marriage. It is less than equal. If you are a married heterosexual think about how you would feel if someone told you that your vows were only civil union? And that your other half was not your spouse but your domestic partner? Please truely think about it.
