Equality in civil marriage does not \"redefine\" or weaken anyone else's marriage.
\"Traditional\" marriages between a man and a woman didn't become weaker or less valuable in Belgium, in Canada, in the Netherlands, in Norway, in South Africa, in Spain, in Sweden, nor in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Iowa, or Vermont; nor in California while same-sex couples were allowed to legally marry. In fact, after five years of equal marriage, the Massachusetts divorce rate is the lowest in the US (about 2.0 per thousand for 2008), matching the US divorce rate in *1940*! (Facts are inconvenient things for those who seek to impose their religious views on civil society!)
