Being GLBT is not chosen or a \"lifestyle\"
The argument \"Prop 8 does not take away any rights\" contains an invalid premise. Being lesbian, gay, or bisexual, and/or transgender, is not any more a \"lifestyle choice\" than being left-handed. (And it wasn't all that long ago that many lefties suffered having to learn to write, etc. with their right hand.) It doesn't matter what combination of genetics and prenatal environment shape sexual orientation and gender identity. Nobody wakes up and decides, \"I'll be heterosexual today, for a change\" any more than \"I'll be right-handed today, for a change.\" There is ZERO credible evidence of \"ex-gay therapy\" succeeding, and much evidence of the harm it causes. At most, it represses people's basic orientation and desires, with a few bisexuals choosing to pursue only opposite-sex relationships.|~|#|^|!|http://www.apa.org/helpcenter/sexual-orientation.aspx
